Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Get Payd (Pty) Ltd, trading as Payd ("Payd", "we", "us"), provides accounts receivable automation for South African businesses. This policy explains what personal information we process, why, and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Who we process information for

We process information in two roles. For the businesses that subscribe to Payd ("practices"), we are a responsible party for their account details. For the debtor information practices connect to Payd (via their Xero account), we act as an operator processing that information on the practice's instructions, for the purpose of sending payment reminders on their behalf.

What we collect

How we use it

We do not sell personal information. We do not use debtor information for advertising.

Third parties we rely on

We use vetted service providers to deliver the service, including Xero (accounting data source), Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform and 360dialog (message delivery), and cloud hosting and database providers. Some providers process data outside South Africa; where this happens, we ensure protections consistent with POPIA section 72.

Security

Access credentials to accounting systems are encrypted at rest. Access to personal information is limited to what is required to operate the service. We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may object to processing. Debtors can opt out of reminders at any time by replying STOP. To exercise any right, contact us at hello@getpayd.co.za. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
